I find myself a bit grossed out and appalled (at myself) for actually liking the smell of certain combinations of decrepit animal doo-doo and rotted plant material -- I can't give any specific accounting except vague memories of cleaning out an old wooden garage and finding somebody's poop --whose poop? dunno-- mixed in with straw bale hay and thinking it smelled nice ~ bleh.

I imagine your poo discovery did smell nice (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little).

Yes, there definitely is poo and then there's poo.Justine Cranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16224192086918363871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334550719328846218.post-12963594882631980652009-09-18T08:26:05.098-07:002009-09-18T08:26:05.098-07:00I had a fairly goofy experience over the weekend, ...I had a fairly goofy experience over the weekend, when we were putting up a rain gutter on the side of the patio. We found two large piles of dried loquat fruits and cat poops, up on the corrugated plastic roof. Holy cow it was noxious. But, I thought of black currant absolute. And rotting indoles. Seems like the ferals last year had taken to using the dried fruits as litter.

Have to say, after raking those piles off the roof, the coop smelled like woodsy ambrosia as I raked out a week's worth of shavings and poops.

There's poo and then there's poo?

Bawk bawk bugAWK!Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05592584406221528110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4334550719328846218.post-41943600414707542632009-09-13T17:05:18.878-07:002009-09-13T17:05:18.878-07:00I love this post.
